Opening Conversations About Mental Health

One of the most significant barriers to mental health care is the stigma surrounding mental illness. Open discussions help normalise mental health issues and develop an understanding of the various mental health conditions.

About the Workshop:

Talking about mental health is essential for a whole host of reasons – reducing stigma, promoting awareness, providing support, encouraging early intervention and access to care, enhancing coping strategies, fostering a healthier society, encouraging personal growth, combating loneliness, and improving the physical side of health also. Open dialogue about mental health creates a more supportive, understanding, and healthy environment for everyone.

In this session, we look at the framework to open discussions about mental health. We learn the best ways to start a conversation about mental health, how to offer on-going support and what kind of support is appropriate for the workplace.
